Leonardo Antonio Cetola was born in Alberona, a town and comune in the
province of Foggia, in the Apulia region of southeast Italy in 1912. After a few
years of schooling, he went to work in the fields as a shepherd.
At an early age, he came to America. From that point on, his profession was a
painter, gardener and maintenance supervisor. In a quiet, humble manner, Tony did
the little things that needed to be done for his church, his family and friends,
never looking for recognition. He was a loving husband caring for Lena's needs
and faithfully visiting her in the rest home until his health failed and he
joined her there. He was a loving father, grandfather and friend to all who knew
him.
Above all these wonderful qualities was Tony's shining example of a man who was
content with his life. He leaves a legacy of love and faith to all who knew and
loved him. He knew and lived this passage from the Bible:
But godliness with contentment is great gain.
I Tim. 6:6
